The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has launched an initiative through its workforce platform, ASE Connects (formerly WrenchWay), providing free memberships to automotive repair shops and dealerships. This offer is valid until December 31st for establishments that participate in the Industry Data Exchange by completing a survey detailing technician salaries, benefits packages, and company operational guidelines.
Dave Johnson, President and CEO of ASE, emphasized the importance of this data, stating that many businesses currently make critical decisions regarding technician compensation and employee benefits without sufficient information. He highlighted that this free membership offer aims to eliminate any hesitation for businesses to contribute to and utilize a reliable, comprehensive dataset. The survey, designed to gather anonymous information, takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. All submitted data is aggregated to ensure anonymity and bolster the integrity of the overall dataset. Upon completion, participating shops gain full access to the ASE Connects platform for the remainder of 2026.
This program underscores a commitment to fostering transparency and informed decision-making within the automotive service industry. By facilitating the collection and sharing of crucial workforce data, ASE Connects empowers businesses to develop more competitive and equitable employment practices, ultimately benefiting both employers and technicians. The initiative promotes a collaborative environment where industry-wide data contributes to better standards and practices.
